RULES

1: The judges decison is final NO judges should be approached under any circumstances and all objections must be handed to the club secretary along with a fee of £25.00 per person objecting within 15 minutes of the incident occurring. Points will be taken off members if judges are confronted with complaints direct. This is refundable if the committee upholds the complaint

2: Hard hats of B.S. specification EN1384. PAS015 or USA-ASTMFI 163 with a 3 point fastening must be worn in young handlers classes and at all times when mounted, with chin straps securely fastened. Correct riding habit is expected in all classes except gymkhana classes where long sleeved shirts may be worn instead of a riding jacket. Saddles must be worn in all ridden classes.

3: Only regulation crops, not exceeding 30" will be allowed. Crops are not allowed in the gymkhana classes. Spurs are forbidden on the show ground.

4: Points will be awarded as follows: 1st - 8, 2nd - 6, 3rd - 4, 4th - 2, plus 2 attendance points. Points will only begin to be counted when membership is paid in full. Members must enter the class for at least 3 points shows for points to count. To qualify for points, the horse / pony and rider / handler MUST be entered under the same name in each show. Do not depend on the secretary. Only the same combination of rider / handler and horse / pony will count. Parents who show their childs pony in-hand, must become members to qualify for points excluding Lead Rein classes.
THE ONUS IS ON THE MEMBER TO ENSURE THAT THE CORRECT ENTRIES ARE MADE

5: Where age is specified, this is to be read as the age on the 1st January of the current year.

6: If a competitor is entered in a lead rein class they cannot enter any other class off the lead rein, except in class
17.

7: Lead Rein classes are to be ridden in a snaffle bridle with the lead rein attached to the noseband only, the use of a lead rein with a chain or coupling is prohibited.

8: Horses / ponies under 4 years old must not be ridden on the show ground.

9: To be eligible to compete in any ‘Novice’ class, the horse/pony and rider combination must not have won a first rosette in any other class of its type, i.e. Working Hunter / Equitation etc. at RVRC in a previous season.  Combinations which enter this class, are NOT eligible to enter any other class of its type.  Please note that the Novice rule also applies to class 5.

10: Competitors may ONLY enter ONE gymkhana class, i.e tots or open.

11: It is the responsibility of the competitior to be present at the appropriate ring for the commencement of the class or report a delay to the judge. The Committee /Judge holds the right to refuse latecomers entrance to the ring. Entry fees will not be returned if judging has taken place.

12: Entries will not be accepted once the secretaries entry sheet has left the hut to be passed to either the judge or steward, unless in extreme circumstances, at the discretion of the committee.

13: Stallions may compete providing they are wearing a bit, the handler is a adult, and (in the opinion of the judge and committee), is fully competent of controlling the animal. Leaders in the youngstock class must also be competent of controlling the animal, or may be asked to leave the ring / showground.

14: The committee has the right to refuse entry and changed the schedule if deemed necessary.

15: Horses / ponies may only be walked and trotted in public places.

16: Any animal deemed to be a danger to other competitors, WILL be asked to leave the showground.

17: Known kickers must wear a red tail ribbon

18: The committee does not accept liability for loss or damage to persons, property or animals, however caused at the clubs events.

19: For insurance purposes all trophies must be collected by the winners at the presentation dance, or at the Annual General Meeting.

20: The committee have the right to ask for proof of age or relation if deemed necessary.

21: No alcohol is to be consumed on the showground.

22: Litter must be put in the bins provided or taken home.
